Myanmar’s beaches aren’t major resorts. And that’s why they are so, so, so good.
Ngwesang beach is the more touristy of the two beaches. We managed to find some affordable bungalows way away from everything. They were alright…
A sandy jog in the morning yielded some wonderful views. After our run, we ditched the sneakers and hopped in the waves to enjoy the sun as it finished rising and brought the day into light. A day of reading, swimming, and applying sunscreen isn’t a hard one. As the tide rolled out, the beach in Burma handed us a sand jetty that connected the shore with an island close by. There, we met some little punks who befriended us.
A few days here, some fresh caught fish dinners, and many young coconuts later, we decided to check out Myanmar’s more local beach, Thong Na. The motorbike ride between the beaches took only about 2 hours and included 3 boat crossings.
Another few days of beach relaxing and a wonderful bungalow, and we were ready to take on one of the most stunning sights Myanmar has to offer.
